"Oh why don’t I just tell him that I stalk him eh? Urgh!!" I said to myself out of embarrassment while walking towards the bus stop, thinking about the incident before.
How should I face him tomorrow? I frowned as I remember the next day meeting that I’ve to attend with him. I bet he’ll be smug or tease me all day.
I can’t help but crushing on him for a while already. I admire how he work, so fast and tidy, except the minor problems he causes with his poor Korean reading like before of course.
He’s extremely hardworking and I do remember his first day here which is almost a year ago. He was calling our colleague, Xiumin, as 'oppa~' and I laughed till I fell off my chair. Priceless.
Suddenly, a sleek black car suddenly stopped infront of me and the window rolled down. Not again. I wish I could just run but my feet froze on the spot,
“Hey noona,” Tao called me and I looked away, pretending not to hear him,
“Tsch, I know you hear me Hyunkyung-sshi, what are you doing there?”
“What do you think? I’m mowing the lawn of course” I sarcastically smiled at him as he laughed, he made that finger gesture that asked me to come closer to him. I shook my head and looked away,
“Come on, I won’t tease you anymore ok? You know, I could just drop you off at your house, it's better than waiting alone right?” I turn my head towards him and found him smiling at me.
“U-uh?” I was taken aback a little bit by his words.
Well, We’re actually not that close but just because a simple accident before, we changed like this? Not that I mind of course, but still...
“It’s okay Tao. I’ve got to buy something at the supermarket for my little brother anyway. I’ll just go home by myself,” I politely refuse him
Instead of driving away, he step out from the car and grab my hand. My eyes opened wide as he dragged me towards the passenger door.
“Yah! Yah!!” he closed the door and ran to the driver seat and set off,
“Yah! Huang Zitao~~”
“What noona?” He laughed. I just pouted at him and put on my seatbelt. Seriously, who did he think he is to do this to me?
“You can’t just drag me like that! I’m your senior you know,”
“But I can’t risk my senior moreover a woman, to wait the bus in cold like that alone you know,” he imitated the way I talk.
“Aissh, Seriously…. How can I fight this kid,” I said as I rubbed my temple and stole a glance at him.
He was actually looking at myself too with that little smirk on his lips. I looked away and try to hide my blush
“Never knew that teasing you is this fun,”
“M-Mworago?!” I squinted my eyes at him but it just makes him laugh even louder. “yah! Zitao! Just drop me on the Supermarket near here please if you still want to tease me even further,”
he just laughed at me while I rolled my eyes.
I sighed. When we arrived at the supermarket I quickly step out from his car and bowed down to see him in an eye level,
“Thanks for the ride,” I smiled a little, still feeling a little bit pissed with him and walk away to the awaiting groceries that I had to buy.
I fill my cart pretty quickly with things I bought. Got me some sodas and drinks that Kyungsoo told me to buy through the text message before. That kid, he’s always bossing me around to do things and when I refused he always had to pull that secret aegyo of him to make me do it in the end.
I was reaching for the last lemon soda bottle on the upper shelf but suddenly another hand was reaching it behind me. It took me by surprise as I turn around to see Tao smiling down at me,
“W-Wha-What are you doing?”
“helping you getting this?” he said while taking over the cart. I just let him be, I don’t know what should I do anymore.
I was reading through the list while the two of us passed the canned goods section when an ahjumma suddenly smiled at us. We bowed back in response and I smiled at her,
“Such a cute young couple,” the ahjumma said and made my eyes almost popped out,
“A-ah, we—“ but then suddenly Tao grab me by my waist and pulled me closer to him. then bowed to her once again by himself.
The fuck?!!
“Khamsahamnida,”
Once the ahjumma left the aisle, I push him away and my face feels really hot. Oh, this boy is way past my limits now.
“What the fuck are you doing? That’s not necessary! Please, just stop all of this teasing, i got enough, okay?!” I glared at him while snatching my trolley from this babo and walk away.
It wasn’t necessary to do that I think. What is this, once we’re not that close except when we were working now we acted like 2 bestfriends all of a sudden? And what’s with his kind acts towards me since before? Is he wanted to tease me because of that incident? Me looking through his profile? Oh come on~ I know I’m being too much by yelling at him like that. But I don’t want him to toy with my feelings. What did he mean exactly with all of this that happen so sudden? Did he knew about my crush on him? Ugh!
“Hey,” I looked behind to face his sorry face, but I just kept my newly paid stuffs close to me and stand outside the supermarket to halt a cab.
“Hyunkyung-sshi, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make you that mad,”
“Hmmm,” I just replied curtly without looking at him.
“I’ll take you home ok, please? as an apology.”
Still looking around but still no sign of any cab. I looked at him and saw that sad look he supported. I feel bad immediately,
“Kay,” I shrugged. Better come with him rather than waiting for a taxi that seems never came up right? And I’m late already, kyungsoo will kill me for sure.
He was carrying my stuffs and put them on the back seat as me take the same spot as before. We drove in silence towards my house as I gave him the address. He once said that he lived not too far from there, only 4 blocks away. Maybe that’s why he insisted to take me home. I stole a glance at him through his rear mirror. He’s so timid sometimes and that’s pretty cute. Once he was this serious man on the work, then a teaser, then now once I got mad he’s in complete silence.
“You know Tao, …”
“Mmm?”
“I-I’m sorry..... I just snapped at you before. I just feel…….”
He took a glance at me, one hand on the steering wheel and another one resting between the chairs. I look at him too, because I don’t know how to voice out the words actually. I feel like this happened too fast, in such a short time. I might just held it in. He actually stopped in front of my house. I could see him turn to look at me but I keep my head down, playing with the shopping bag that I hold in my hand.
“Feel? Feel what?? You haven’t continue,” He tilted his head to one side once, questioning me. I turn to look at him and open my mouth but nothing came out from it.
“Hmm… nothing, just forget it.” I shrugged and gave a small smile. as I about to open the car door, Tao locked it again. Damn this boy~
“You can’t get out unless you tell me Noona,”
I know if I didn’t answer him he wont let me out at all. I’m tired of this tug-of-war game we play all since before, Well, I might just say it then if this will let me go. I’m kinda suffocated and my heart is beating so so fast already. screw all these
“I feel….kind of overwhelmed,”
“Overwhelmed? Why?” now he was confused.
Because our sudden closeness? That playful and cute side of yours? Because I like you but I’m have too much pride to admit? And now I think that you're playing with my feelings. and Because…….
No, I won’t say it. I shook my head. Too much things on my head. I'm affraid i wont say it with the right words. I just keep quiet and shake my head.
“Just forget it Zitao,” I was about to manually unlocked the door but Tao grabbed my hand and turned me around to face him again.
“What if I can’t?” I suck in breath slowly when suddenly his face inching closer to me,
“W-what? What are you doing Huang Zi—“
My heartbeat increased and it’s as if I could hear every little sound around me. Another heart is beating faster but it’s not from mine. I looked up at him to meet eyes with him, that deep and hypnotizing eyes. His other hand hold my chin slowly and tip it up, God.
Then it happened. his soft lips landed on mine. It’s as if someone knocked the breath out of my lungs at that simple touch and I froze in place. The butterflies in my stomach are flying around and all the hairs in my head stood up as he moved his lips softly on mine. I practically frozen, still registering in my mind that this is not a dream, I haven’t even had the chance to replied the kiss but he receeded. Still looking at each other he suddenly smiled down,
“Now I feel really stupid,” he sheepishly smiled before leaning back to his seat. I’m still on the shocked state, I could only see him. He looked back at me,
“I was very careful with my feelings, but now I’m being careless,” Tao sighed and facepalm himself, “Sorry,”
I don’t know what I’m doing but my hand immediately flew to his head, petting his soft hair to soothe him. He looked up at me,
“Tell me, am I being delusional to think that….” he stopped in middle way, I just smiled softly and waited him to continue
“That what?”
It looks like something caught on his throat. Well, If he is thinking what I’m thinking then—
“that you’re actually interested in me?” exactly. Just like what I thought and want.
W-Wait?!! What?
He grabbed my hand and brings it down to cup his face.
“I was glad when I know you, secretly read my profiles, that you blushed when I get close to you, when you start to stutter..." he chuckled lightly. My face was heating up, damn~ "Usually those means that, you are interested in me... Right? And our feelings about each other, Are mutual, right? ”
I just teasingly smiled at him. Well, so he does like me. Well then i wont hesitate anymore and came closer to his face,
“Mutual? What do you think hmm?”
I could see a faint reddish color starts to creep up his face. He smiled shyly and looked down before looking back at me with all the feelings he had inside.
Without words, We both understand that this is mutual. We feel the same way. Even without words, only through our eyes we both can read it
“Well, you…”
“ssh, shut up,” I gave him a light peck that surprised him but he relaxed after it, “You’re stupid,”
“Same like you,” I stuck my tongue at him and gave him a light kiss on the tip of his nose that makes a huge grin appears on his face.
As he was about to lean in and kissed me a knock on the window shocked us both and my little brother’s angry face plastered on the window scaring the hell out of us!
“DO HYUNKYUNG! STOP SMOOCHING PEOPLE AND GET IN THE HOUSE!!! HELP ME!” then . the moment bomber do kyungsoo. Then he stormed off with a fork on his hand back to the house while me and Tao stare at his retreating figure, trying to understand what just happened.
I laughed out loud with Tao in the car after that incident.
“Your little brother?”
I nodded, “Crazy as always,”
“I thought it was your mother,” Tao said while we laughed and makes me laugh even louder. He helped me with the seatbelt and out from the car. I could hear the music coming out from the house. I turn to Tao who’s busy with the stuffs I bought before.
“Wow, a party eh?”
“Yep, celebrating my brother’s accomplishment,” I smiled at him,
“Oh, cool,” Tao nodded as he carefully look around my house. I tapped his shoulder lightly and he turns his attention back at me. Grabbing his hand I step closer to him once again while pointing to the door.
“umm, Would you mind to come inside?”
